United Bank Ltd Pakistan

UBL is one of the biggest banks of Pakistan. It has more than 1,320 branches spread out in the country.  Apart from local branches, the bank has a well-reputed international setup in countries like USA, Qatar, Bahrain and Yemen. Established in 1959, the founder name is Agha Hasan Abedia. UBL was nationalized in 1971 which continued on till 2002, the year in which it was sold to Abu Dhabi Group. Also, in 2002, UBL’s operations were merged with NBP in UK becoming United National Bank Limited.

Today, the bank owns 55% of the shares as it is presided by His Highness Shaikh Nahayan Mubarak Al Nahayan. The bank has its head office in Karachi.

Talking about the revenue of UBL, it was Rs. 77.83 billion in 2015. Coming to its assets, the bank owns Rs. 1.44 trillion and has over 15000 employees.
