Bank Islami is the first bank which initiated the services of Islamic Banking for customers. The year was 2005 when SBP – State Bank of Pakistan gave the license of Islamic Banking. But the operations took about 3 years to start in April 2006. Presently, the bank is popular for giving products and services including trade finance products, investment banking, retail banking and consumer banking. It also sees wealth management as one of the most important areas of banking. To cope up with this, the bank has initiated financial planning services and exclusive products.
Bank Islami has more than 203 branches in Pakistan. It is the 11th widest banking network in the country. Since its merger with KASB two years back, Bank Islami has grown into the finest bank of the industry. Karachi hosts the main office of this bank and Hasan A Bilgrami is the CEO. In 2014, th bank generated a revenue of Rs. 7,812 million with the bank’s income of Rs. 314 million.
